Wordplay Public Speaking

Wordplay’s reading comprehension course introduces students to Wordplay’s library. It challenges kids to use the word recognition and language comprehension skills they learned in phonics & reading to read and understand exciting library books. This is the class where children will truly learn to love books of all kinds. With over 500 English books to choose from, students will get to pick the book of their choice and learn how to write book reports and do speaking presentations about the books. Students will be able to identify information like the title, author, publisher, and year of publication. They will also learn to identify main characters, supporting characters, setting (time & place), and other important facts about the story. At the end of the *reading comprehension* course students will have all of the reading skills they need to independently read both fiction and non-fiction books in English about any topic they are passionate about.
